It has been almost two months since we were hit by hurricane Florence. We are slowly recovering from the devastation with the help of many friends.
The fine folks of St. Andrews-Covenant in Wilmington have helped by sending many donations of clothes, food and personal items needed in the community. Our sanctuary and fellowship hall were used as distribution points. They also came by every week to tidy and replenish these supplies. Many people in the community who lost some things or everything took advantage of these items.
The congregation of St. Andrews in Raleigh has made Black River a mission. They have sent a team to help with the demolishing phase and are now helping us reconstruct the fellowship hall.
We at Black River will never be able to repay such kindness and there are no words to convey our thankfulness. We continue to pray for these wonderful people and are sure that God has blessed and will bless them.
We would also like to mention all of the people who have sent donations to our rebuild and to the Luther Brown Fund for aid to locals who need it. Thank you all.
