On May the 3rd, 2015, Black River Presbyterian Church hosted it's 275th Homecoming. That's our bicenterquasquigenary for all you word collectors.
The turnout was truly all that we expected and more. The final head count was 244 people. The congregation was treated to bagpiping from Master Andy Simpson, several songs from the St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Choir from Wilmington, and a sermon from Dr. Douglas Hix entitled "The convictions of the Scots...What are yours?"
After the service, all of the congregation gathered on the steps of the sanctuary for a photograph.

The password is 275th.
And after the photo, dinner on the grounds. There was so much food, we had to add extra tables in the Fellowship Hall. No one went away hungry. And as always, Minnie Harvey and Minnie Robinson were on-hand to help serve the food and drinks.
The day was sunny, but not too hot, with a nice breeze blowing throughout. And while we were eating, John Goodman was nice enough to give us music with his dulcimer.
The congregation of Black River will not soon forget this celebration, and we hope those who attended will remember it as well. And to remind us of the wonderful day, here are some pictures:
